We are not currently registered for Value-Added Tax. No VAT is charged on our prices and no VAT is shown on our invoices.
These terms
These terms govern your use of this website and any order you place through it. By placing an order you agree to them.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Where these terms conflict with that Act, the Act prevails.
Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.
Our products
We manufacture health supplements and sports nutrition products at our premises in Pretoria.
Ingredients, serving sizes and directions for use are stated on each product page and on the product label. Please read the label before use.
Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Consult a healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18 years of age, taking chronic medication, or living with a pre-existing medical condition.
Product images are representative. Packaging and label design may vary between batches.
Prices and payment
All prices are in South African Rand and include no VAT, as set out above.
Delivery charges are calculated and displayed separately at checkout before you confirm your order.
We currently accept payment by electronic funds transfer. Your order is prepared once payment reflects in our account. Please use your order number as the payment reference, as orders without a reference cannot be matched and will be delayed.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. Where a price was incorrect, we will contact you before despatch and you may confirm the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.
Orders
Your order is an offer to purchase. A contract of sale comes into existence when we confirm despatch of your order.
We may decline an order, including where stock is unavailable or where the price was incorrectly stated. If we decline an order for which you have already paid, we refund you in full.
Order confirmation is sent to the email address you provide, so please check it is correct.
Delivery
We deliver within South Africa. Delivery is by courier, either to a street address or to a nominated collection point.
Delivery timeframes quoted at checkout are estimates and not guarantees. We are not liable for courier delays outside our control.
Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
Please ensure someone is available to receive the delivery. Where a delivery cannot be completed because nobody is available, the courier's redelivery terms apply and a further charge may be payable.
Storage and use
Store as directed on the label. Use before the date printed on the pack.
We are not responsible for deterioration of a product caused by storage contrary to the label instructions after delivery has taken place.
Returns and refunds
Change of mind. You may cancel an order and return goods within 7 days of receiving them, provided the product is unused and its seal is intact. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods. We refund you within 30 days of receiving the returned goods.
Opened products. For health and hygiene reasons we cannot accept the return of a product whose seal has been broken, unless the product is defective or was incorrectly supplied.

Faulty or incorrect goods
Under section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act you may return goods that are defective, unsafe or not as described within six months of delivery, and you may choose a repair, a replacement or a refund.
If your order arrives damaged, or you receive the wrong item, contact us within 7 days with your order number and photographs.
Where goods are defective or incorrectly supplied, we pay the cost of return and refund you in full, including the original delivery charge.
Refunds are made to the original payment method.
Complaints and disputes
Please raise any complaint with us first, at info@vontauten.com. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days.
If we cannot resolve a matter, you may refer it to the National Consumer Commission or to the relevant consumer goods ombud.
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
Intellectual property
All content on this website, including the Von Tauten Lab name and logo and the mark Formulated with Purpose™, is owned by us or used under licence.
You may not reproduce, distribute or use our content or marks for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version published on this page at the time you place that order.
