Who is responsible
Von Tauten Lab (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2018/539113/07, of 33 Eland Street, Koedoespoort Industrial, Pretoria 0186, is the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, telephone number, delivery address, order details and payment reference.
When you contact us: your name, email address, telephone number and the content of your enquiry.
When you join a mailing list: your email address.
Automatically, when you browse: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring website.
We do not collect or store your card or banking details. Payments are handled by our payment provider.
Why we collect it
We process your personal information to fulfil your order and deliver it to you, to issue invoices and keep accounting records, to answer your enquiries, to send you information you have asked for, and to meet obligations under South African law.
Where we process your information to perform our contract with you or to comply with the law, we do so without needing your consent. Where we rely on consent, such as marketing emails, you may withdraw it at any time.
Marketing
We only send marketing emails to people who have asked to receive them.
Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link. You may also email info@vontauten.com to be removed. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
Couriers, who need your name, address and telephone number to deliver your order.
Payment providers, who process your payment.
Our software providers, including the provider that hosts our website and business systems, who process information on our instruction.
Our accountants and professional advisers, and regulators or authorities where the law requires it.
We require anyone processing personal information on our behalf to protect it and to use it only for the purpose we have given them.
Information sent outside South Africa
Our website and business systems are hosted by a service provider whose servers may be located outside South Africa. This means your personal information may be transferred to and stored in another country.
Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient is subject to laws or binding agreements providing an adequate level of protection, as POPIA requires.
How long we keep it
We keep order, invoice and accounting records for the period required by South African tax and company law.
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with the matter and for a reasonable period afterwards.
We keep mailing list entries until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or unlawfully obtained, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@vontauten.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act.
You also have rights of access under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000.

Our website uses cookies to keep your session active, remember the contents of your basket, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Our website uses encryption in transit, shown by the padlock in your browser.
